But the current method of water transportation is still very dependent on weather factors, natural conditions, in which there is the phenomenon of creeks at the wharf being deposited, not having enough width and depth to serve watercraft and boats in and out of the wharf, making navigation difficult.

The seabed goes through a lot of time affected by objective factors such as thunderstorms, floods, seasonal sedimentation, causing a large amount of sludge in the form of silt, sand, a material sediment of the sea, etc. to accumulate day by day. The accretion situation is due to topographical features, tidal regime, wave regime, coastal currents, sand transportation, etc; which impacts on the environment, ecosystems, aquaculture areas, affects waterway navigation activities of ships, causes great damage to economy and labor safety. At that time, it is very necessary to perform canal dredging. All canal dredging is for the purpose of clearing the stream, helping the channel to ensure its depth, to facilitate the movement of ships, at the same time, it also makes full use of products from dredging such as sand, stone, gravel, etc. to serve the growing construction demand.

The process of dredging at sea is necessary and necessary. Not only the waters of Vietnam but also countries around the world have to carry out this activity to create favorable conditions for navigation.   • The project of dredging canals in Dong Ho wharf, Quan Lan commune, includes 5 channels with a total length of 38.88 Km, a reserve of 5 million m³, a total investment of VND 151 million.
  • The project of dredging canals in Van Don district stretches from Chuong Cay Khe (Dong Xa commune) to the border with Tien Yen district, with 8 channels, total length of 40.1 Km, reserve: 4 million m³ with total investment. 87 million dong.
  • The project of dredging canals in Con Trui, Minh Chau commune, includes 6 channels with a total length of 15.1 Km, a total investment of 210 million VND to effectively exploit the reserve of 8 million m³.

These are long-term projects implemented in the form of socialization with the goal of dredging, clearing creeks, and making full use of sand products for leveling.

Besides, the Tien Yen river channel dredging project, located in Tien Yen district with a total length of 29.8 km, total investment of 198 million VND, is being completed legal procedures for implementation. . The project of dredging the Ba Che river channel in combination with the salvage of dredging products in Ba Che district has a total length of 24.6 km, with a total investment of 150 million dong is submitting documents and waiting for the results of appraisal and approval of the competent authorities.

In the past time, due to the problem of “sand thieves” nationwide raging and Quang Ninh is no exception.
